We’re delighted to announce that Canon Camera Store Week is back for 2026! And this year is extra special, as it marks the fifth year of Canon’s celebration of specialised camera stores like ours.
To celebrate five years of Camera Store Week, this year’s event is being extended to two full weeks, running from 7th September to 21st September 2026.
There will be special offers on selected Canon cameras and lenses, a photography competition, and exciting in-store events throughout the two weeks. But Camera Store Week is about more than just great offers — it’s also a celebration of the important role that specialist camera stores play in the photography community.

What do we overlook every day?
As part of this year’s Canon Camera Store Week, Galway Camera Shop is inviting photographers of all levels to take part in The Unseen — a photography competition challenging you to look closer and capture something that might otherwise go unnoticed.
It could be a hidden detail, an overlooked corner of the city, an unexpected moment, a fleeting expression, a fascinating texture, or something completely ordinary transformed by your perspective.
We want to see the world through your eyes.
So slow down. Look closer. Find something others might miss — and capture The Unseen.
🏆 THE PRIZE
The winning photographer will receive a €250 voucher to put towards any Canon product at Galway Camera Shop.

One entry per person.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The competition is being run by Galway Camera Shop as part of this year's Canon Camera Store Week.
- There is a limit of one entry per person.
- Entries must be received by 6:00pm on Monday 21st September. Late entries will not be accepted.
- Each entrant may submit one photograph only.
- All entries must be the entrant's own original work. By entering, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit the photograph.
- Entries should interpret the competition theme, “The Unseen.”
- Each entry must include the entrant's name, photograph, a short description of the image, and contact details.
- The winning photograph will be selected based on its creativity, originality, interpretation of the theme and photographic quality.
- The judge's decision is final.
- The winner will be contacted using the details provided with their entry and will be announced by Friday 25th September.
- The prize is a €250 voucher to put towards any Canon product at Galway Camera Shop. The voucher cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another person.
- By entering, you give Galway Camera Shop permission to reproduce and display your submitted photograph, along with your name, for the purposes of promoting and showcasing the competition, including on social media, the Galway Camera Shop website and other promotional materials.
- The entrant retains ownership and copyright of their photograph.
- Galway Camera Shop reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these terms and conditions.
- By submitting an entry, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and conditions.
