With the 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art, SIGMA introduces a classic in a completely renewed form. This lens not only guarantees superior optical performance but is also extremely compact and fast, equipped with an extensive range of features that make the life of a professional image-maker much more convenient. The lens will be available for both L-mount and Sony E-mount.
The new SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art has significantly evolved from its predecessor. From design to production, highly advanced technologies have been applied to this new lens. This has resulted in greatly improved resolution across the entire zoom range. Additionally, the newcomer features an aperture ring and an unprecedentedly fast autofocus, more than three times faster than its predecessor. This is thanks to the High-response Linear Actuator (HLA), a newly developed linear motor responsible not only for fast but also extremely precise and silent autofocus. The same HLA is also seen in the SIGMA 60-600mm F4.5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports launched earlier this year. Moreover, the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art is approximately 7% smaller and 10% lighter, weighing 745 grams, than its predecessor. In other words, we're dealing with a very compact powerhouse here!
High sharpness
The SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art delivers optical performance befitting its flagship status. With its F2.8 brightness, this lens produces captivating bokeh and offers high sharpness across the entire frame. Advanced technologies effectively suppress various aberrations, ensuring demanding photographers and filmmakers achieve the best results in any situation. Additionally, the lens boasts excellent close-up capabilities with a minimum focusing distance of 17cm(!) at the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7. This is convenient for composing close-up shots of a subject or for shooting in tight spaces where it's difficult to get a good distance from the subject.
Excellent build quality
Despite its compact size, the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art maintains its excellent build quality, with a robust construction suitable for professional use. The addition of an aperture ring and two AFL buttons, one more than its predecessor, further enhances functionality. Different functions can be assigned to these AFL buttons via the menu of the selected camera. In addition to the side placement, the extra AFL button is positioned on top to facilitate button operation when the camera is held vertically. The lens body, mainly consisting of highly precise plastic parts, boasts excellent build quality and weather resistance, being dust and splash resistant. This means users can rely on the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art even in rugged conditions.
