This shot was taken in Joyce country on the beautiful drive from Clonbur towards the Maum valley. The vantage point here gives fantastic views of this section of lough corrib. There are reputed to be 365 islands along Lough Corrib, one for each day of the year. It was once the main access to Galway from Connemara. In medieval times the lake would’ve been used by clans like the O’Flahertys who would often raid the walled city of Galway when it was built by the Normans.
