Combining a short telephoto field of view with a slim design and close focus performance, the RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM is a well-balanced lens for a variety of subjects, from portraits to macro subjects. Its close-focus design lets you work with subjects up to 1.15 feet away at f/1.
The 2x maximum magnification and STM stepper motors provide ultra-quiet and smooth autofocus performance and permanent manual focus override. The lens supports razor-sharp images, and in addition to Hybrid IS, it also features optical image stabilization, reducing camera shake by up to 5 stops for cleaner, smoother shots. UD (Ultra Low Dispersion) elements are also used in the optical design to minimize aberrations and ensure clarity. Plus, a configurable control ring lets you adjust exposure settings like ISO, aperture, and exposure compensation directly on the lens.
